The SCO wind soloists make a welcome return to Crear on Wedneday 29 July at 6.60pm with a charming programme that is perfect for a summer evening. Wit and ingenuity are at the heart of Mozart’s wind writing for clarinets, bassoons and horns. The oboes join in to bring to life the dances at the Capulets ball, and the thrilling street brawls between the rival Veronese families in Prokofiev’s Romeo & Juliet Suite. The concert rounds off with Beethoven’s entertaining, well-crafted and virtuosic Octet. Delightful! Mozart - Divertimento No 14 in B-flat K270 Handel - Two Arias for Wind Band HWV 410, 411 Prokofiev (arr Tarkmann) - Suite, Romeo & Juliet Mozart/Wendt Overture, Il Seraglio Poulenc - Sonata for clarinet and bassoon Beethoven - Octet
